Langara college

Langara’s new Science & Technology Building required a clear, standardized Interior Sign Program to support future signage needs. With no existing sign standards in place, the program was developed to align with the college’s design guidelines and brand identity, while enhancing wayfinding and reflecting the campus’s evolving character.

As part of the project, a full audit of the existing wayfinding infrastructure was conducted, followed by a redesign of campus maps and key signage elements to improve navigation and strengthen placemaking across the site. The process involved evaluating current wayfinding strengths and weaknesses and identifying opportunities for better user flow. A comprehensive documentation package was then developed, including a detailed sign location plan and specifications for each sign type. These were organized into a standardized system with a clean, consistent visual language, ensuring clarity, scalability, and long-term alignment with Langara’s evolving campus environment.
